Mel-O-Toons sometimes erroneously called "Mello Toons", was a series of animated cartoons produced in 1960 by New World Productions and syndicated by United Artists. It featured various folk tales, Greco-Roman myths, Biblical stories, some original stories by author Thornton Burgess, classic stories, even adaptations of classical music and ballet. The soundtracks were often taken from existing children's records, licensed from the original labels. 104 cartoons, each about 6 minutes...

Private Snafu imagines the good times his family is having back home while he's stationed in the Arctic. Technical Fairy First Class shows that even his family is helping with the war effort - his dad building tanks, his mom planting a Victory Garden, Grandpa riveting battleships, and his girl joining the WAC's and even the family's horse is pitching in. This is one of 26 Private SNAFU ('Situation Normal, All Fouled Up) cartoons made by the US Army Signal Corps to educate and boost the morale...

Cartoon showing what happens to a drop of gasoline from the time it flows into the gas tank to when it is exploded in the engine cylinder. This "fantastic voyage" through a glisteningly clean Chevrolet engine is an excellent example of the soft-sell industrial, where the product that's promoted is hardly ever mentioned by name.

Here is our thesis animation completed at RIT. It is the story of an impetuous Chinese monk who finds he has a thing or two to learn from an unlikely source. The animation is rendered in a brushpainted style reminiscient of old Te Wei films. Enjoy!

This puppet-animation is from 1948 and created by the Dutch puppet-animation factory "Dollywood", raised by Joop Geesink. It is in techni-color with a soundtrack. The story is a fairy tale about a kingdom and a young prince which is cursed by a witch and gets a beard. Nobody can cut this beard and all men in the kingdom should have a beard. Then, when the child-prince is about 18 years old they find a solution in a Philips Philishave. Very funny fairy tale and marvelous...

The first Chinese animated feature film. This a a heavily denoised, high bitrate (1800 kbps) version that some people may find easier to watch than other versions of the same film due to reduced video noise and improved luminance level. The audio track has not been enhanced. The resolution of this video is 688x416, which represents the actual image area after the black bars have been cropped from the original. Note that some of the image is missing from the bottom edge, this was unfortunately...
